While young India’s familiarity with zines might be via its vibrant zine culture mostly comprising comic and art zines, the origins of zines in India are tied to pamphleteering which began as a quick and cheap way to disseminate information.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn this workshop, Shalaka Pai will kick off with a crash course into how-to-make-a-zine before going over Ambedkarite and feminist traditions of pamphleteering in India. Then, each participant makes an informational 10-14 page zine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorkshop participants will need to arrive with a basic idea or theme for their zine. It should be a piece of knowledge or information that they think needs to be freely available to the public.
