Harsh Wardhan Bhilala
Harsh Wardhan Bhilala is an artist from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, currently living and working in Indore. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting from the Government College of Fine Art, Indore, and is presently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at the same institution. Deeply rooted in devotion and spiritual practice, Harsh’s work centers around the divine feminine, particularly Devi Maa, whom he presents not in a singular form but as a vast, boundless energy. For him, Devi is Shakti—limitless, ever-changing, and unconfined by one fixed identity. His paintings reflect her multiple manifestations, whether as Durga, Kali, or Saraswati, embodying strength, wisdom, and grace.
Drawing from both traditional and contemporary influences, Harsh blends the simplicity of tribal and folk aesthetics with modern techniques. His compositions feature bold geometric forms, vibrant colours, and intricate lines, often built through layered cut-and-paste methods on canvas and paper. Inspired by traditional symbols and stories, his visual language creates a bridge between the past and present—a unique attempt to capture the vastness of Devi Maa in a new and powerful form. Each work is both a personal act of devotion and a celebration of the divine feminine’s infinity, strength, and beauty.
