Hasan Ali Kadiwala

Hasan Ali Kadiwala is a Baroda-based artist working across printmaking, painting, and mixed media. Born in Siddhapur, Gujarat, he holds a BFA in Painting from M.A. Parikh Fine Arts College in Palanpur and an MFA in Printmaking from Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU), Baroda.

His work draws deep inspiration from childhood memories, nature, and the human landscape. Often incorporating Arabic and Urdu script, as well as elements of Islamic architecture, Hasan creates visuals that evoke abstract thoughts and fleeting moments. His creative process is spontaneous—he allows the medium to guide the composition, leading him to unexpected places.

Hasan has been the recipient of several fellowships and awards, including the 2025 Immerse Fellowship, the 2024 CLKA Open Hand Studio Scholarship, and the 2021 Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy Award. His works have been exhibited internationally, with shows in the USA, Maldives, and India.
