Inder Salim
Inder Salim is a performance artist born and educated in Kashmir, now based in Delhi. Active for over 25 years, he has performed across India, Kashmir, Europe, Japan, and China, and writes poetry in English and Kashmiri.
His projects include initiating workshops during his Sarai fellowship (1997) and IFA fellowship (2013), creating the Harkat performance series at Sarai’s basement (2011), and founding Art Karavan International (2010), a three-month travelling residency through nine North Indian cities. He has participated in the Khoj Performance Festival (2008), the
Sarai Reader at Devi Foundation of Art (2012), and the SACRED:Homeland Festival of Performance Art in London (2016).
Collaborations include Kashmir Point Charlie (2011) with Silke Kaestner, an exchange between artists from Berlin and Kashmir, and mentorship for the Raqs Media Collective’s City-as-Studio programme.
