"Making Pocketbooks of Poetry" offers an immersive experience in an interactive, creative, generative writing workshop. Participants will delve into minimalist poetry, crafting five short poems that will be compiled into unique, tiny clusters.

Innovative Presentation: Experiment with diverse forms such as chits, secret notes in bundled clothes, writings on necklaces, painted dried leaves, or folded into tiny zines, challenging conventional notions of poetry.
Everyday Objects as Poetry: Explore the concept of pocketing and preserving poetry through everyday objects, expanding perceptions of what is deemed worthy in the realm of poetic expression.
Subverting Tradition: Subvert traditional page structures with the written word, drawing inspiration from historical and modernist poets to alter perceptions of poetry's form and presentation.
Wide Literary Exploration: Read and discuss poems from various traditions during the first half, followed by the creation of personalized pocketbooks in the second half, providing a rich library of minimalist poetry for inspiration and discussion.

Saranya Subramanian is a poet, writer, city archivist &; founder of The Bombay Poetry Crawl, and MFA graduate from the University of San Francisco. Her writing has been published in Frontline, The Bombay Literary Magazine, Lithub, The Caravan, Madras Courier, Aainanagar, Outlook Weekend - to name a few.
