Forget the myth of chaos. The pit was never noise for noise's sake, it's the one of most honest dancefloors ever built, the place where kids nobody wanted found out what their own bodies could do when nobody was watching to stop them. Two-step, pogo, hard body mosh, call it what you like, it's a language.

Thought this dancefloor particularly belonged to men? It never did. Women and queers were throwing down in hardcore pits since the ‘80s, holding it down before anyone dressed it up as a movement. Vogue and the two-step come from the same instinct, aggression turned into style by people the room thought they could reject.

Sidharth Raveendran (Pacifist, Haramcore Inc.) cuts into the history, the ethics, the sweat, harm, safety, sobriety, who takes the space and who's told to hand it over.

Then, the dance. Twelve people, about twenty tunes. Bring a body ready to be utilised.

This is an RSVP event and with a cap on 6 males, to make the room more even. Thanks!
