Unspoken Rooms | 23rd March | Workshop | Method Kala Ghoda
NEW way to look at Art through Somatic practices.
Welcome to "Unspoken Rooms: Exploring Memory, Comfort & Distance" Workshop.
Experience art not just as an observer, but as an active participant in a journey of self-discovery through the art on the walls.
A note from the facilitator:
My attempt here is to create a more democratized experience when engaging with art—one that moves beyond the metaphorical glass wall imposed by traditional gallery spaces.
Historically, the art world has been shaped by exclusivity, catering to a select audience through institutionalized curation, academic jargon, and market-driven narratives. Museums and galleries have long dictated how art should be seen, valued, and interpreted, often alienating those without formal training or access to these spaces.
The way we have been conditioned to view art is deeply rooted in Eurocentric, colonial frameworks that emphasize intellectualized interpretations over personal experience. This cultivated approach has created a disconnect, making art feel inaccessible rather than an innate, human experience.
Decolonizing our response to art means stepping beyond these rigid frameworks and reclaiming a more instinctive, inclusive way of seeing. Art should not be confined to analysis alone; it is, at its core, a sensory and emotional experience meant for everyone, regardless of background or education.
Through this approach, I seek to restore the simple joy and power of looking at and experiencing art—without over-analysis, without barriers, but with a sense of presence and engagement.
This workshop is designed to break these barriers, offering a space where anyone can connect with art on their own terms. It is an invitation to engage, feel, and express—a return to art as a universal and deeply personal experience.
