Human connection – how we make it, how we sustain it, and why we need it—is one of the most universal themes of the pandemic. Most spent at least some time looking at their loved ones on a screen, but to what extent?

Alone, Together documents the lives of two individuals living on opposite sides of the earth trying to survive the loneliness of solitude.

Rema Chaudhary compiled Alone, Together from hundreds of screenshots taken over months. This is a time capsule capturing the strange way in which we all learned to live, and perhaps how we began to value the importance of being seen in the mundane yet intimate moments of our lives.

Rema Chaudhary is a Mumbai based photographer. She studied photography in Massachusetts before returning to India to start her career. She has shot for clients such as Gucci, Nike, Adidas, Forbes Japan, Verve, L’Officiel and many others.
She is inspired by nature and how we fit into the grand scheme of things. Her work is intimate, quiet, and filled with fantastical prospects of the internal and external environment.
