Aastha Dutta
Aastha Dutta was born in 1998 and is a visual artist who works and lives in Assam. From a young age, she developed a strong appreciation and comprehension for the arts, which led her to pursue further studies in the field. She finished her bachelor's degree in 2021 from Orissa, and completed her Masters in Fine arts from Shiv Nadar University, Noida, in 2023.
Nature, shift, memories and the happening around her are major elements of influence. Her materials and mediums of choice are diverse. At the moment, one of the primary components of her works is the stitching and embroidery technique. She is attempting to investigate the technique with other surfaces while considering contexts associated to embroidery, even though the embroidery procedure is often employed with fabric. Investigating potential wider implications of a straightforward procedure using a basic needle and thread, as well as how it might impact a person's everyday life and surroundings.
She has participated in Kochi Muziris Biennale (student biennale) 2022-23, under Suvani Suri. Volunteered and coordinated many exhibitions and art symposiums in a variety of galleries such as Lalit kala Academy. Willingness to work for and with society, and constant commitment to providing for people's needs.
