Anurag Basak

Anurag Basak is a visual artist based in New Delhi and Birmingham whose work translates socio-political unrest into powerful visual narratives. Drawing influence from Surrealists and Minimalism, his paintings explore themes of oppression, inequality and resistance. Through stark human forms and symbolic contrasts, Anurag captures the tension between power and vulnerability. Anurag’s artistic journey begun with a Master of Fine Arts from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, followed by working independently, teaching in Higher Educational institution in India and abroad and exhibiting periodically.
