OSHEEN SIVA
Osheen Siva (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller from Tamil Nadu, India, whose practice spans painting, illustration, animation, public art, and immersive installation. Their work, rooted in the framework of Tamil Dalit Futurism, draws from lived experience as a member of the Pariyar community to interrogate caste, gender, and religious hierarchies through speculative, counter-mythological narratives.
Siva’s practice has been exhibited across India and internationally. Osheen held her debut solo exhibition "Inflorescence" at Method Kala Ghoda in 2021. Recent solo exhibitions include Karuppu at Bonington Gallery (Nottingham, 2024), Abundance in the Void at Art & Charlie (Mumbai, 2024), and Vessel with Pulp Society at India Art Fair (New Delhi, 2023). Group exhibitions include Democracy From Where I Stand at LIFT Festival (London, 2024), Futures at ACMI (Melbourne, 2024), Vaanerum Vizhuthugal at Chennai Photo Biennale (2024), and the upcoming Art Science Museum in Singapore (2025). Siva has also presented work at the Serendipity Arts Festival, Chennai Photo Biennale, and the Museum of Art and Photography in Bangalore.
In addition to their studio practice, Siva has conducted workshops and talks on anti-caste futurisms, Dalit Panther histories, and speculative fiction at institutions including Nottingham Trent University (UK), BITS Pilani (Goa), Kyoorius Design Yatra (Goa), and Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi). Their pedagogy often engages students, queer communities, and gender-diverse youth in collective acts of resistance and reimagination. In recognition of their impact, Siva has been named to Forbes India’s and Forbes Asia’s “30 Under 30” lists in the Arts category (2022, 2024).
