Covering Earth 1 by Bhavin Patel
An original artwork by Bhavin Patel.
The continuous spread of urbanization is leading to the gradual reduction of agricultural land, raising concerns about the future of food production. In this work, Bhavin Patel has engraved a brick wall pattern onto a terracotta tavdi (pan) to symbolize this shift. The terracotta tavdi represents rural life and agriculture, while the brick wall engraving signifies the encroachment of urban development. This juxtaposition highlights the growing tension between urban expansion and the preservation of agricultural traditions.
This artwork was exhibited at Method Delhi in the group exhibition "Formation & Fracture" a group exhibition featuring alumni from IMMERSE by Somaiya Vidyavihar University (July 2025).
