Guth consists of a needle-sculpted, black-wool head, and a 25-foot long needle felted braid, into which dozens of ball bearings have been stitched and hidden. This piece is a material exploration embodying the personal and collective narratives of Sikh women which have been lost in time but are still contained within the physical body.

This artwork was exhibited at Method Delhi in the group exhibition "Fresh Produce" (January 2025).

    Damini Gupta

Damini Gupta is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in New Delhi. Her body of work is narrative-driven and spans multiple mediums, including publication design and comics, painting, and material explorations through needle-felting. Thematically, her practice tends to inquire into autobiographical lived experiences, feminism, and the subversion of conventional visual lexicon—usually interpreted through a lens of satire and surrealism.

Damini completed a Master’s Degree in Illustration and Visual Media from the London College of Communication in 2023 and now practices full-time as an illustrator, graphic designer, fine artist, and art educator. Her work was previously exhibited at the Irregulars Art Fair, Studio Khirki, and her clients include the United Nations, Louis Vuitton, Hachette, and Penguin Publishers. She has also illustrated over a dozen children’s books and book covers.
