In the Land of Dreams by Anup Let
An original artwork by Anup Let.
In the Land of Dreams' takes the performance into the landscape, using the body as a blueprint for transforming space, architecture and interaction. A male body dressed in typically feminine clothing challenges societal norms and established identities. Flowers are a recurring presence in Anup Let's work, as here the marigold flower reveals inner beauty. The mountain trek represents both personal and collective struggles: negotiating norms, finding belonging, and embracing identity as part of a larger transformation. The figure of a personless animal wearing a tail that points to male genitalia, while on the other hand, the only hope of life is shown here. Through the work, Anup advocates for a non-binary perspective and rejects rigid gender classifications.
This artwork was exhibited at Method Delhi in the group exhibition "Formation & Fracture" a group exhibition featuring alumni from IMMERSE by Somaiya Vidyavihar University (July 2025).
