Khoj - IIl by Antara Paul
6केवट (Kevat, meaning Boatman)
Whose voice guides the boat?
The whispering winds, the raging waves, the rowing hands, or the seeking spirit.
This series inquires into the purpose of existence - how we live where we live to why we live the way we live. The journey unfolds as a process of unlearning and unveiling. All the ephemeral experiences are symbolised into the winds and the waves while the rowing hands are the body and its capacities.
Kevat's boat traversing the 'bhavsagar'...
Yet in the mayhem,
there are moments of awe and wonder,
I stand
And I look back and forth
And I see my boat,
Traversing across the time and space.
Sailing into the ocean of 'bhav', the ocean of 'roopa'...
I, the lover of the 'roopa'
Striving to admire and experience the 'arupa' in the 'roopa'...
And
There I see You…not You, perhaps I…
Perhaps…neither…
nor You nor I
Us in all ‘Isness’!
