In August of 2020, broadcasting live from the confines of Method Art Space in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai-based musician and synthesist Abhi Meer offered up a Truman Show-esque look into an artist’s life in stasis during one of the world’s strictest lockdowns.

Two years on, its resultant oeuvre has come to be known as Screen Dream, an album comprising 10 passages of live recordings from the six consecutive days spent in isolation at Method.

On the eve of the album’s release, Abhi Meer returns to Method in an attempt to bring this compositional arc full circle. Alongside a compact listening session will be a discussion on musical identities, why content is destined to fail without context, Realism in music, the pressures of creating with audiences looking on, plus an open-ended, participatory dialogue surrounding music that will appeal to both diehard obsessives as well as casual listeners.

This preview of Screen Dream by Abhi Meer is a one-time-only event for a limited audience. Attendees who wish to purchase the album at the preview will also receive a limited-edition print of the album’s artwork drawn by Nayana Ria Keswani.

Date: Sunday, December 11, 2022
