Strange Horizons - Transformation Under the Weight of Belief by Tushar Waghela
After sketching the drawing on multiple layers of MDF, I begin the carving process using both machines and hand tools, such as power tools, a jigsaw machine, hand chisels, and similar equipment. Once the carving is complete, I apply multiple coats of base paint, followed by a layer of PVA coating. The final stage involves treating the piece with acrylic paint blended with marble dust, pigments, and other materials to achieve the intended finish. A crucial aspect of the process is the erasing technique, which is essential for creating the desired texture and an aged aesthetic.
