Traces of the Unwanted (Set of 2) by Zarrin-Fatima Shamsi
“Traces of the Unwanted” explores the quiet yet persistent presence of both natural and artificial waste in our environment. Created through a process that combines imprints of decayed organic material and fragments of industrial textures, the piece reflects the inescapable coexistence of what nature sheds and what humans discard. The layered lines and ruptures mimic geological formations, evoking a terrain where time has pressed the two worlds together. This artwork invites reflection on how synthetic and organic remnants, though born from different origins, now share the same space—interwoven, inseparable, and silently shaping the landscape of our present.
This artwork was exhibited at Method Kala Ghoda in the group exhibition "In the Small, Infinite" (June 2025).
