Anxious by Akash Khetavat
This painting, titled "Anxious," draws inspiration from my personal experiences with anxiety. It depicts a woman grappling with her inner turmoil, her expression reflecting the complexities of mental health. Through the use of forms and shapes, I aim to convey the message of hope and resilience, encouraging those who struggle with anxiety to seek support and find peace. My inspiration comes from the countless individuals who bravely face their anxieties and work towards healing. The artwork is created with acrylics and incorporates pieces of Gold foil, adding to its unique texture and symbolism.
This painting portrays a woman with a troubled gaze, symbolizing the internal struggle she faces. The use of muted colors in the faces in womans evokes a sense of melancholy and introspection.
The tense posture of the womans in the painting reflects the physical manifestations of Happy anxiety. The use of sharp, angular shapes reinforces the theme of unease and restlessness.
The incorporation of fragmented patterns in the artwork symbolizes the fragmented thoughts and emotions associated with anxiety. The painting serves as a visual representation of the challenges to be happy faced by those who struggle with mental health.
"Anxious" embodies the complexities of mental health and the ongoing journey towards healing. Through the use of expressive forms and the incorporation of old foil, the painting serves as a reminder that hope and resilience can prevail over anxiety.
