liactuallee is a queer transient being with a diverse cultural background, exploring fluidity of the world through mixed media drawings and fiber art. li explores themes of deconstruction and subversion in their work, challenging binary thinking and chronic toxicity, while exploring dystopian and utopian visions. As a practicing yoga instructor, li is informed by the connection of aesthetic and spiritual transformation, through repetitive patterns of movement and line. This distinct perspective motivates li to create imagined visual universes that offer a glimpse into optimistic futurist modes of envisioning our collective destinies. liactuallee graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honors in 2016, and received a postgraduate diploma in Aesthetics, Criticism and Theory from Jnanapravaha, Mumbai. In the time since the pandemic, li has attended an artist residency at Space Studio Baroda, exhibited at Emami Art Kolkata, created and showcased zines at the Gaysi ZineBazaar 2022, and painted a public murals in their neighborhood in Bandra, Mumbai. li continues to create soft sculptures, and hopes their work can invade larger spaces and someday the world.
