Moments of Serenity I Avani Bakaya
This painting is a part of a series about my grandparents and their move to Delhi during the pandemic. The painting depicts my Nana, he is often seen reading his newspaper and solving sudoku. In contrast to his wife, he quickly adapted to his new life and found moments of calm in chaos. The image of the windows and the thinly lined champa tree hint at a life he’s left behind but the floral shawl that envelopes him hints at an almost peaceful sense of acceptance of his new reality.
