Aditya Dhabhai

Aditya Dhabhai is a contemporary sculptor from Udaipur, Rajasthan, whose practice navigates the complex interplay between materiality, symbolism, and the human condition. A graduate of MSU Baroda with a specialization in sculpture, his work is deeply informed by personal experiences and environments, particularly his time in Baroda, where the recurring presence of reptiles—especially lizards—became a central motif in his artistic exploration. These creatures, emblematic of resilience, adaptability, and stoicism, serve as metaphors for survival and societal expectations.

Aditya’s process is guided by an intuitive engagement with materials, allowing their intrinsic properties to shape his conceptual and sculptural approach. Drawing influence from anime, manga, and the often-overlooked nuances of everyday life, his work examines themes of hyper-masculinity, identity, and vulnerability, offering a deeply personal yet universally resonant commentary on the human experience.

Having worked across Goa, Baroda, and Delhi, Aditya has exhibited his work in group shows throughout India and has conducted workshops to share his practice with diverse audiences. His sculptures reflect the silent struggles and resilience inherent in both humanity and nature, inviting viewers to engage with the unspoken tensions that define contemporary existence.
