An original painting by Mohd. Intiyaz.

I have beautiful memories of my childhood, from the beginning of my adolescence. I started observing the ways of society and those around me and tried to be responsible for my actions toward others. In this series, I share a few of these memories. Where I live today, there is a mixture of culture and religion, bringing together all kinds of people. Sometimes there are festivals, with a variety of food vendors selling to those attending the festival. In one of these panels, I am paying homage to a memory from a past festival. I am carrying balloons to sell, for my family was facing great economical issues at the time. I needed to sell balloons to support my family, but I felt the shame of what I was doing, so I hid my face with the balloons. This was not easy, and
I remember I struggled with my siblings to find happiness even in the small things.
